Paintings Pa Gave Me

Every once in a while, Pa would announce he was giving away paintings. I would always take whatever I could get. The one above is the first one from one of these give aways. I got it in 1993 or 1994. But, I don't know when it was painted or, um, what it's a painting of. I believe they're Utah mountains, though. Anyone recognize them?

I got this painting and the next one when Gail was getting ready to move to Utah in winter of 2005. She was giving away the last what was stored at her house then. Again, I'm afraid, no idea of what these are paintings of.

That first one looks like Timpanogos Mountains in Utah County. Gosh, he was amazing, right?! Oh, and this is Mary Clark (maiden Shaffer) daughter of Cris, daughter of Gaily.

Hi Mary! I thought it might be Timp, but I wasn't sure.

If you have Pa pics, too, we'd love to have you post them (or you can email and Rachel or I can post)--my email is clyde underscore curis at yahoo dot com

That goes for everyone else--the more the merrier!

Emily, the mountain is surely Timpanogos.

I'm also about 87.8% sure that the school is the old Thistle School in Spanish Fork Canyon. It was destroyed when the landslide in Spanish Fork Canyon blocked the Spanish Fork River, submerging the school for several months in around 1982. Your Grandpa and Uncle Kevin built the road up and around the lake.
